CRPS Doesn’t Own ME
In my last blog “My CRPS Story” I explained what the initials “CRPS” stood for, how I got this relentless nerve disease, and all about the nerve disease that affects 200,000 people in a given year.
To recap, CRPS is a chronic neurological pain disease that is characterized by severe, relentless pain. It has been around since the Civil War. You can get CRPS at any age, anytime, and anywhere in your body.
Below is a poem I wrote about CRPS in November 2010. It is called “CRPS Doesn’t Own Me”.

Raising awareness is so important
Pain doesn’t have to control your life
Sharing our story will help others
Dreams don’t have to end
Our goals may go in a different direction
Each day we deserve to wake up and smile
Some days are more painful than others
No matter what, never give up
There is FAITH, HOPE, and LOVE
Our life is still worth living
We walk through fire every day
Nobody can tell us what we should be doing
Move forward, live our life the best way we can
Every day brings something to be thankful for
God Bless!
